Martin Springs Baptist Church of Chandler, Texas has been serving the local community since 1915 when formed by a small group of believers in Jesus Christ who wanted the gospel of salvation to spread here in East Texas.
Over the years, we the church has met this need in many ways.
After a period of several years of focus on Reformed doctrine (also known as Calvinism and understood by references to the words Chosen, Election and Predestination), MSBC has returned to a general alignment with Freewill Baptists and Missionary Baptists in doctrine in that anyone who truly places their faith in Jesus Christ evidenced by the walk of obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ can and will be saved! We believe that ‘whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ (KJV)
BE BLESSED IN LIVING FOR JESUS:
As the Apostle Peter preaches on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2:21 (referencing Joel 2), he says, ‘And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.’ We believe that salvation is no longer only to the Jews (The Chosen) but also to us (gentiles)–that anyone can call on the name of the Lord and in faith receive the blessing of living in Jesus Christ. We believe that this requires living in the teachings of Jesus and this IS the blessing. If you do not have the blessing of Living for Jesus, you do not have the blessing of faith in Jesus. Esau rejected the blessing not seeing the value in his birthright, so he sold it. Do not sell out by sin as Esau did–obey Jesus by living in faith in the Only Son of the Living God! Jesus said He will build His church upon this truth–this rock–this foundation stone! (Read Matthew 16:13-19. This is for us today!)
We ardently exhort you to call on the name of the LORD Jesus Christ to be saved today. Living with Jesus as you trust Him as your Messiah (Deliverer) is the Only Way to be saved and to enter His Heaven! You can be made Elect by placing your faith in Jesus Christ today. What is impossible with man is possible with God!
To emphasize this is important and has been lost in many sermons and teachings particularly in theological modernity: Faith without obedience is not SAVING FAITH. Saving faith IS EVIDENCED by obedience!
